7 Tips to Help You Plan a Birthday Photoshoot
Celebrating a birthday with a photoshoot is an awesome idea that comes with a lot of prep work.
Here are 7 helpful tips to help you plan a memorable birthday photoshoot:
Understand Your Vision: Get inspired. Use Pinterest, IG, or Google to get ideas.
Understanding what you like will set you up for success. Your photoshoot consultation call will be much smoother if you can communicate your ideas, preferences, and vision with your photographer ahead of time.
Choose a Theme: Select a theme that reflects your personality or interests to add a personal touch to your photoshoot.
Birthday photoshoots can be uniquely designed and customized to fit your style and personality. Planning your photoshoot is probably the most fun part of the process outside of the photoshoot itself.
Designing your theme is key to ensuring you get exactly what you’re looking for. All of our clients receive a complimentary design consultation where we talk about color schemes and themes.

Select the Right Location: Whether it's in our studio or outdoors, choose a location that complements your theme and vibe.
At The FlowerChild Studio, we offer 3 types of locations for your photoshoot:
Studio: Best for those who enjoy AC, easy wardrobe changes, and custom backgrounds.
Beach: Great for those who love the sand between their toes, beach vibes and fresh air. Not so great if you’re not a fan of sand, wind or heat.
Parks: Great for nature lovers, outdoor enthusiasts, those not afraid to sweat and those who love flowers and greenery.
Think about Props: Consider using props that enhance the theme and add visual interest to the photos. Props can range from balloons and flowers to specific decor items.
Plan Your Outfits: Coordinate your outfits based on the chosen theme and consider bringing multiple options for variety in your photos.
Hair and Makeup: Schedule hair and makeup styling sessions to ensure you look and feel your best during the photoshoot.
Order a Cake: If you wish to include a cake in the photoshoot, order one that fits your theme and complements the overall look.
Stay Organized: Create a checklist of tasks to ensure nothing is overlooked during the planning process.
By following these tips and staying organized, you can plan a birthday photoshoot that captures beautiful memories for years to come.
